Blackburn Chemicals Ltd. is a family owned company founded in 1972 (http://www.bbchem.co.uk) and produces defoamers for mainly aqueous systems, both in liquid and powder form and anti-shrink additives under the brand name Dispelair.

Alfred Kochen GmbH & Co. KG has been working very closely with Blackburn Chemicals Ltd. since 1996 and supplies various industries in the German market with Dispelair products.

Blackburn Chemicals Ltd. is constantly investing heavily in product development, with 20% of employees working in research and development alone, continuously working to improve products to perfection.

Blackburn Chemicals Ltd. now produces approximately 40,000 tons annually and has a range of more than 280 different defoamer grades in active production for a wide variety of industrial applications such as adhesives, construction, coatings and inks, paper and plastics, wood and textile coatings.

In addition to the existing product portfolio, Blackburn Chemicals Ltd. offers its customers a tailor-made service to find customized solutions for their applications. Extensive tests are carried out on site on the system to be defoamed and the most suitable quality is then suggested.

Product innovations, with regard to the responsible use of existing resources on the one hand and the growing variety of renewable and bio-based raw materials on the other, also play a major role at Blackburn Chemicals Ltd. In the course of further development, we have succeeded in launching a product series on the market that is manufactured from 90% renewable raw materials, but still has a high dispersibility and offers a 100% active ingredient content and is therefore already being used successfully by the first customers for a wide range of applications.
