Blackburn Chemicals Ltd. is a family-owned company founded in 1972 (http://www.bbchem.co.uk) and produces defoamers for mainly aqueous systems, both in liquid and powder form, and anti-shrink additives under the brand name Dispelair.

Alfred Kochen GmbH & Co KG has been working very closely with Blackburn Chemicals Ltd. since 1996 and supplies various industries in the German market with the Dispelair products.

Blackburn Chemicals Ltd. permanently makes extensive investments in product development, so that 20% of the employees alone work in the area of research and development and continuously work on improving the products to perfection.

Blackburn Chemicals Ltd. now produces approximately 40,000 tons annually and has a range of more than 280 different defoamer grades in active production for a wide variety of industrial applications including adhesives, construction, coatings and inks, paper and plastics, wood and textile coatings.

In addition to the existing product portfolio, Blackburn Chemicals Ltd. offers a Tailor Made Service to its customers in order to also find customized solutions for their application areas. Extensive tests are carried out on site on the system to be defoamed and the most suitable quality is then suggested in each case.

Product innovations, with regard to the responsible use of existing resources on the one hand, and the growing variety of renewable and bio-based raw materials on the other, also play a major role at Blackburn Chemicals Ltd. As a result, further development has succeeded in bringing a product series to market that is made from 90% renewable raw materials, yet still has high dispersibility and offers 100% active ingredient content, and is thus already being used successfully by the first customers for a wide range of applications.
