Natural sodium sulfonates and white mineral oils – medical and technical

Alfred Kochen Company would like to draw attention to our natural sodium sulfonates and white mineral oils, all of which are Reach registered and produced with modern manufacturing processes of advanced technology. All current requirements for environmental protection are fully met. We can confirm the following certifications of the producer: ISO 9001:2015, NSF, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001:2004, Guía ICHQ7.

The various natural sodium sulfonates have balanced emulsifying/corrosion inhibiting properties, are free of aromatic polynuclear hydrocarbons, carboxylates, derivatives of asphaltenic acids and chlorine derivatives.

Various white medical and technical mineral oils are available. The medical variants do not contain aromatic hydrocarbons after an appropriate refining process. Even the technical variants with a paraffinic structure generally have virtually zero aromatic and unsaturated hydrocarbon content.

Natural sodium sulfonates

There are 4 natural sodium sulfonates with different molecular weights so that formulations can be effectively customized to meet the needs of all customers. Please find the overview in the attachment. They are used for the production of oil-in-water emulsions that can be applied to displace water on a metal system, thus preventing rust and corrosion. Natural sodium sulfonates act as emulsifiers, binders or co-solubilizing additives.

All natural sodium sulfonates meet the strict quality standards set by ASTM-. They are highly valued for their quality and properties in the metalworking industry, automotive industry, are used as lubricants for use in high temperature processes, metalworking fluids and for high energy processes.

White Mineral Oils – Medical and Technical

Medicinal white oils

Medicinal white oils are colorless, odorless and tasteless. In the case of medicinal white oil, the kerosene oil is refined until all aromatics and sulfur compounds have been removed from the oil and it is completely pure. They have stability under all pressure and temperature conditions, have chemical inertness due to the kerosene character and are immiscible with water. The excellent properties of our various white mineral oils allow them to be used as raw materials in various industries such as cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and also food industry.

A range is available from 14 to 70 cSt@40ºC:

K 301 K 302 K 303 K 304 K 305, please find the overview in the appendix.

K 305 is used, for example, for the production of plastics and adhesives.

All medicinal qualities comply with the European Pharmacopoeia and the American USP.

Technical white oils

Technical white oils are almost water clear. Our white technical mineral oils with a paraffinic structure generally have virtually zero aromatic and unsaturated hydrocarbon content. They have absolute stability under changing pressure and temperature conditions, are chemically inert due to their paraffinic structure, and are immiscible with water.

There are various types available, please find them in the attachment.

The most typical technical white oil is KT 302 (ISO 16 cSt@40ºC). It is normally used as a lubricant, also in the textile industry and meets FDA quality requirements. 21 CFR 178.3620 (b) (USA), which regulates indirect use in food.

Technical white oils are used, for example, in coatings, in metalworking, in rolling oils, as release agents or binders, in rubber production and processing, in polymer processing or as lubricants.
