Metaflake Ltd was founded in 1996 with the vision of producing aluminum pigments with a completely new, revolutionary and environmentally friendly technology.

In the traditional process, which has hardly changed for almost 100 years, large quantities of hydrocarbon solvents are needed.

Metaflake decided to take a different more sustainable route, used a proprietary technique and own production process (water milling process) and now produces aluminum pigments that are 100% are free from toxic hydrocarbon residues. Among the obvious benefits for the environment, the special manufacturing process produces highly brilliant pigments with unique features.

A wide range of pigments is available in powder, paste and pellet form, which can be used in the coatings and printing inks sector as well as in the plastics industry. The brand names are Aqua-Brite™, Meta-Brite™ and Pellex™.

Metaflake exports from its site in Scotland to all parts of the world. The company is is privately owned, currently has just under 30 employees and is ISO 9001 certified.
